Weekly K-Pop Music Chart 2014 – September Week 2
SISTAR reclaims the No. 1 spot this week with their new song “I Swear.” It was just five weeks ago SISTAR topped our chart with their previous hit “Touch My Body.” They had a quick turnaround and released a special album “Sweet & Sour.” Collaborating with Double Sidekick once again, “I Swear” is a house style dance song. It is yet another hit song made for summer with its diverse vocal lines and exciting sound. This week it moves up 11 spots all the way to the top, winning by a large margin. “I Swear” also swept the music shows last week. SISTAR also joins Girl’s Day as the only artists with two No. 1 songs on our chart this year. Congratulations to SISTAR!
“I Swear” pushes the top two songs from last week down one spot. At No. 2 it was the champion of the past two weeks, WINNER’s “Empty.” Park Bo Ram’s “Beautiful” also moves down one spot to No. 3.
There is only one other new song in the top 10 this week. It is the long awaited comeback by Super Junior. They released their seventh album “Mamacita,” their first full album in more than two years. The title song of the same name moves up 16 spots to No. 7 this week. It is a jack swing song with a drum beat and a piano melody. The lyrics ask listeners to pay attention to pain suffered by people around the world. Due to the Chuseok holidays in Korea, “Mamacita” rises slower than expected but it is picking up this week with the song starting to collect wins in music programs. It will definitely be a serious contender for our top spot next week.
