Weekly K-Pop Music Chart 2014 – September Week 3
In a hotly contested battle, Super Junior’s “MAMACITA” moves up six places to capture our top spot this week. This song swept all music show rankings last week. Although it doesn’t fare as well in other chart sources, “MAMACITA” was able to hold off the past two champions WINNER’s “Empty” and SISTAR’s “I Swear” for the win. It is the first No. 1 song for Super Junior on our chart in three years. They last did it in 2011 with “Mr. Simple.” Congratulations to Super Junior. There are two new songs in the top 10 this week. Moving up 11 spots to No. 6 is the second straight top 10 hit for Gary and Jung In. Their last collaboration “Your Scent” was a huge success and went up to as high as No. 2 on our chart back in June. Three months later, they are back again with “Bicycle.” This is an easy listening R&B ballad with Jung In’s laid back vocal and Gary’s soft rap. The calming melody of the song makes listener feel as if they are riding a bicycle through scenic landscape. Moving up 17 spots to No. 9 is Jay Park’s new song “So Good.” This is the title track from his second full length album “Evolution.” It is an vibrant hip-hop style dance song with catchy lyrics. Jay Park’s distinctive style makes listeners want to dance together with him.
