Epik High Has a Wild Parade in Manila
Epik High made waves in the Philippines last April 18 at the SM Skydome for the Manila leg of their “Epik High Parade” tour!
Fans went wild when the group made their way to the stage. They opened the show with a mix of old and new, starting with “Encore” and following it up with “Fly.”
Tablo, DJ Tukutz, and Mithra Jin made it their goal to make each show a unique experience for fans. That’s why every show (even in stops where they performed for more than one day) has a different set list. Manila was no exception to this and fans were kept on their toes with what songs the group was going to sing for the night. The only thing people know when going to an Epik High concert is to expect the group to sing tracks from their early days to songs from their latest album, “Shoebox,” which dropped last year.
Epik High wowed the crowd with some of their older hits including “Love Love Love” and “Fan.” They also performed newer hits like “Happen Ending” and “Up.” They brought on so much energy and even splashed the audience with water. They even surprised fans by signing some albums that people up front brought along with them!
Tablo asked if any of the fans knew 2NE1’s Dara (who spent a few years in the Philippines and became a local celebrity) which was met with loud cheers. He promised to come back to Manila with Dara in tow. (Maybe a hint of a YG Family concert?)
They also commented on the surprise they had with the warm Manila weather and shared that in Seoul, it’s still a little chilly since it’s not quite spring yet.
DJ Tukutz also showed off his fun dance skills to which Tablo later on commented and said, “Tukutz is the dance instructor of CL.”
After an hour and a half of pure energy and great music, they said their goodbyes but fans knew it wasn’t the end. In a few minutes, Epik High came back out and opened their encore set with “Born Hater,” much to fans’ delight. Tablo stopped in between to sign a towel to throw to the fans before ending the song.
Epik High wrapped up the show with a track from 2012, “Don’t Hate Me.” They thanked fans for coming and bid fans good night.
The show was definitely an experience to remember for fans and the group did not disappoint. Check out the full setlist below.
