Weekly K-Pop Music Chart 2015 – May Week 5

BIGBANG’s “LOSER” repeats as No. 1 for the second straight week. This song continues to dominate on most charts and scored another four music show wins (“Inkigayo,” “Music Bank,“ “M!Countdown,” and “Show Champion“) last week. Even though “LOSER” no longer has a perfect score like last week, it is still far ahead of the second place song.  BIGBANG’s other top 10 hit “BAE BAE” also moved up one spot to No. 6 this week. Congratulations again to BIGBANG.

EXID’s “Ah Yeah” remains strong and stays at No. 2 for the third straight week. Despite facing very strong challengers against two top male groups in EXO and BIGBANG, “Ah Yeah” is perhaps the most consistent Kpop hit in May, scoring one week on top and four weeks at No. 2.

The song that prevents BIGBANG’s “LOSER” from sweeping all the music shows last week is also the only new song in our top 10 this week. Moving up 14 spots to No. 3 is Sunggyu from INFINITE. His song “The Answer” won on “Music Core” last week. Carrying on his pop rock style that differentiates from INFINITE’s music, “The Answer” is one of the double title tracks from Sunggyu’s second mini-album “27.” It has a medium tempo pop rock melody. The lyrics are about a man who wants his woman to stay by his side. This song is appropriately titled as Sunggyu is the only artist who has “The Answer” against BIGBANG this week.
