Weekly K-Pop Music Chart 2015 – June Week 2
SHINee’s “View” easily repeats as No. 1 this week. This song swept all music shows last week and had so far won on eight shows. Moreover, main competitors BIGBANG and EXO are switching to new hit songs, leaving “View” as the unanimous No. 1 for this week. Congratulations again to SHINee.
Moving up one spot but still finishing a distant second is IU’s “Heart.” This song continues to rank high on all chart sources despite the fact that IU did not perform the song on music shows.
There are two brand new songs in the top 10 this week. Moving up 13 spots to take No. 3 this week is KARA’s latest hit “CUPID.” This song is the title track of KARA’s seventh mini-album “In Love.” It is a dance hit with additive melody and shuffle rhythm. The fun lyrics describe confident, alluring women. KARA always does well on our chart. Let’s see if this song will become another chart topper.
Moving up nine spots to No. 9 is Baek A Yeon’s “Shouldn’t Have.” This song received good reviews on most independent charts and moves into our top 10 this week. Baek Ah Yeon took part in writing this song herself; it is based on her own experience. It is a guitar driven R&B ballad with shuffle rhythm. Originally, this song has no planned promotion. But since it has become surprisingly popular, Baek A Yeon will start performing it on music shows.
