Weekly K-Pop Music Chart 2015 – July Week 4
Female groups continue their dominance on top of the chart this week as they occupy the top four spots. The top two songs are new entries to the top 10. Girls’ Generation’s “Party” moves up 11 spots to become the new No. 1 song. “Party” is the title song of Girls’ Generation’s special single of the same name. It is a tailor made dance song for the summer with an exciting sound that will boost your energy. This song makes listeners imagine they are enjoying a party on the beach under the sun. “Party” swept all the music shows last week (July 13-19) and did well on all other sources as well so it wins easily on our chart. Congratulations to Girls’ Generation.
Up 13 spots to No. 2 is Girl’s Day’s latest hit “Ring My Bell.” This song is the title track of Girl’s Day’s second full length album “LOVE.” It has additive dance beat that is also perfect for summer season. The lyrics are about the sound of a girl’s heart beat when she sees her crush, just like a bell rings. “Ring My Bell” will battle “Party” for the top spot again next week.
Last week’s top two songs, SISTAR’s “Shake It” and AOA’s “Heart Attack” fell two spots respectively to No. 3 and 4.
There is one other new song in the top 10, and it is a surprise hit. Indie band Hyukoh scores their first top 10 hit, moving up 14 spots to No. 9 with “Comes And Goes.” This is the title track of the group’s mini-album “22.” It was released back in May and it wasn’t getting popular until the group made an appearance on “Infinity Challenge.” After that, many fans checked out Hyukoh’s songs and now they have many of their hits on top of independent charts. “Comes And Goes” ranked No. 1 on GAON Chart last week, defeating many of today’s top idol artists. Not bad for an indie artist crossing over to the pop chart for the first time.
