Weekly K-Pop Music Chart 2016 – January Week 3

Gary scores his first solo No. 1 song on our chart with “Lonely Night,” moving up 14 spots from outside of the top 10 all the way to No. 1. Gary hit No. 1 before with LeeSsang but this is the first time he did it as a solo artist.

Inspired by the hit drama “Incomplete Life,” Gary wrote this song and lyrics himself. It is a story about gaining courage and hope when you are tired and stressed by thinking about your family, friends, and love. Dynamic Duo’s Gaeko is featured in this song and Song Ji Hyo starred in the MV. Despite no promotions on music shows, “Lonely Night” won on Inkigayo last week. Congratulations to Gary.

EXID’s “Hot Pink” moves back up to No. 2 this week, while Psy’s “Daddy” drops a spot to No. 3.

There is one other new song in the top 10. Up six spots to No. 6 is iKON’s “Dumb & Dumber.” This is one of the title songs from iKON’s debut full album “Welcome Back.” iKON released a debut single and a half album last year. Now the full album contains all their previous hits plus this song. Inspired by the movie of the same name, “Dumb & Dumber” is a dance hit with hip-hop rhythm. The lyrics tells listeners to go wild and have fun.
