Weekly K-Pop Music Chart 2016 - January Week 4
The first collaboration between JYP and SM Entertainment artists becomes our new No. 1 song this week as miss A’s Suzy and EXO’s Baekhyun “Dream” rises to the top. This song is written by veteran hitmaker Park Geun Tae and penned by Kim Ina. “Dream” is a jazz style R&B ballad about a young couple in love. It is very different from EXO and miss A’s hit songs. “Dream” won on Inkigayo and Music Bank last week as well. Congratulations to Suzy and Baekhyun.
Last week’s No. 1 song, Gary’s “Lonely Night” drops one spot to No. 2, while TWICE’s “Like OOH-AHH” moves back up to No. 3.
There are two other new songs in the top 10. Moving up 16 spots to No. 4 is K.Will’s latest hit “You Call It Romance.” K.Will duets with Davichi on this ballad. Their vocals blends well together in this song which tells a unique romantic story about a man and a woman’s emotions experienced in a relationship.
Moving up 12 spots to score her first top 10 hit is Kim Na Young’s “What Would Have Been.” Kim Na Young was a contestant on Super Star K5. She has released other songs and participated in drama OST’s but “What Would Have Been” is her first notable hit. It is a beautiful ballad that harmonizes well with the cold winter sorrowful mood. Kim Na Young’s unique vocal will catch listener’s attention.
