I.O.I Reigns With "Very Very Very"; Soompi's K-Pop Music Chart 2016, November Week 1
This week, we have one of the most hotly contested battles of the year for No.1 on our chart! BTS is trying to defend their title with last week’s champion “Blood Sweat & Tears.” They are facing the only brand new song in the top 10 this week, I.O.I’s “Very Very Very.” Both songs recorded wins on music shows last week, and were also very close in other categories as well. Which song will be our champion this week?
In the end, “Very Very Very” edged out “Blood Sweat & Tears” by just four points to become our new No. 1 song! It’s also I.O.I’s first No. 1 hit on our chart. Making their return with 11 members this time, I.O.I released their latest mini-album “miss me?” The title song “Very Very Very” is written by the renowned Park Jin Young, and is a bright, bubbly dance track about a girl who wants to hear that she is being loved when the timing is right and the feelings are sincere. “Very Very Very” won on “Inkigayo,” “M!Countdown,” and “Show Champion” last week, and its strong performance on other chart sources enabled it to move up 12 spots to the top. Congratulations to I.O.I!
BTS’s “Blood Sweat & Tears” won on “Music Bank” last week, and matched up closely with “Very Very Very” on every source, but was edged out and moved down one spot to No. 2.
Rounding out the top three and also down one spot is Davichi’s “Beside Me.”
