TWICE Continues To Slay With "TT"; Soompi's K-Pop Music Chart 2016, November Week 3
TWICE’s “TT” remains No. 1 on our chart for the second straight week! Despite the very strong competition, this song collected three more wins on music shows last week in “Inkigayo,” “Music Bank” and “M!Countdown.” “TT” also topped GAON and internet charts as well. With the strong chart performance of this song, TWICE is gearing up to be a strong contender for the upcoming award ceremonies. Congratulations to TWICE!
Moving up eight spots to take second place this week is rookie female group BLACKPINK’s “Playing With Fire.” BLACKPINK may have better chance next week as they attempt to score their second No. 1 song this year.
Rounding out the top three is I.O.I’s former No. 1 song “Very Very Very.”
There are a lot of changes below the top three, as we have five new songs this week! Moving up nine spots to No. 4 is EXO’s sub-unit EXO-CBX with their title track “Hey Mama!” Combining funk and trendy disco pop melodies, the song is about a guy asking an attractive girl to be his date for one day.
Moving up 10 spots to No. 5 is EXO-CBX’s labelmate Taeyeon with her latest hit “11:11.” This is an acoustic ballad song that seems to be specifically made for Taeyeon’s soft and soothing vocals. The lyrics are about a woman who wants to make a wish with her boyfriend at 11:11.
BLACKPINK has two top 10 hits this week. At No. 7 is their other title song “Stay” from their “SQUARE TWO” single album. This song is very different from their No. 2 song “Playing With Fire,” and contains elements of folk and R&B.
Moving up nine spots to No. 9 is VIXX’s “The Closer.” This song is the title track from their mini-album “Kratos.” With a trendy electronic sound and an emotional melody, “The Closer” centers on themes of love and power.
Debuting at No. 10 is MAMAMOO’s “Décalcomanie,” which is the title song of MAMAMOO’s mini-album “Memory.” The song contains elements of a medium rock genre combined with MAMAMOO’s soulful voices.
