TWICE Rises With "Knock Knock"; Soompi's K-Pop Music Chart 2017, March Week 2
TWICE’s “KNOCK KNOCK” moves up nine spots to take over the top spot as our new No. 1 song this week! This song swept all the music shows last week, but still had to hold off two strong challengers on the way to the top spot. Congratulations to TWICE!
At No. 2 and No. 3 are BTS’s “Spring Day” and Red Velvet’s “Rookie,” respectively. Both songs moved down one spot from their respective positions from last week. They were the No. 1 songs in the last two weeks. The top three songs all score over 900 points this week, proving that competition is very fierce.
There is only one new song in the top 10 this week. Debuting at No. 10 is Taeyeon’s latest hit “Fine.” Taeyeon just won the top female solo artist award in the 12th annual Soompi Awards. After debuting 10 years ago with Girls’ Generation, Taeyeon finally released her first full-length solo album “My Voice.” Her title track “Fine” is a mid-tempo ballad that really highlights Taeyeon’s great vocals. It has an addictive melody, and the lyrics are about a woman who acts fine on the outside after a breakup but feels an emotional struggle on the inside.
