Highlight Reigns With "Plz Don't Be Sad"; Soompi’s K-Pop Music Chart 2017, April Week 2
Highlight’s “Plz Don’t Be Sad” stands out from the rest of the competition and moves up nine spots to become our new No. 1 song this week! This song swept all the music show wins last week and was also strong in all other chart sources, earning the former BEAST boys their first chart topping hit under their new name. Congratulations to Highlight!
Last week’s top two songs GFRIEND’s “Fingertip” and BTOB’s “Movie” both fell one spot to No. 2 and No. 3, respectively.
There are two new songs on the top 10 this week. IU returns to the top 10 this week with “Through The Night,” moving up five spots to No. 9. This song is the pre-released single on IU’s upcoming album. It is a folk ballad about a woman who misses her ex-boyfriend.
Moving up 19 spots to No. 10 is the first ever top 10 hit from MONSTA X with “Beautiful.” The seven-member hip hop group is gaining popularity! This song is the title track from MONSTA X’s album “THE CLAN pt.2.5 ‘Beautiful.'” It has a dynamic sound and an addictive melody, with lyrics about forgetting the past and starting fresh again.
