Highlight Slays With 'Plz Don't Be Sad'; Soompi's K-Pop Music Chart 2017, April Week 3

Highlight’s “Plz Don’t Be Sad” easily repeats as our No. 1 song this week. This song scores even higher than last week and is only nine points off a perfect score. It picked up two more wins on “Music Bank” and “M!Countdown” last week. Congratulations again to Highlight!

Moving up 10 spots to No. 2 is Girl’s Day’s latest hit “I’ll Be Yours.” This is their first hit song in nearly two years, and is the title track from their fifth “Girl’s Day Every Day” series. It is an addictive dance song with soulful brass sound. The lyrics are about a confident girl who is trying to get a guy to confess to her. “I’ll Be Yours” picked up a win from “Show Champion” last week and will try to unseat “Plz Don’t Be Sad” for the top spot next week.

Rounding out the top three is IU’s “Through The Night,” moving up six spots to No. 3 this week. This song won on “Inkigayo” last week. IU has dropped another pre-release song titled “Can’t Love You Anymore,” and we may see it on our chart next week.

There are two more new songs in the top 10 this week. Moving up eight spots to No. 7 is the first rookie artist to hit the top 10 this year. Pledis Entertainment, who is known for launching mega groups like After School and Seventeen, debuted their latest 10-member female group PRISTIN. Their song “Wee Woo” hits the top 10 on its third week on our chart. Eight of the PRISTIN members actually debuted last year under the name Pledis Girlz with the song “We” but this is considered their official debut. “Wee Woo” is the title song of PRISTIN’s first mini-album “HI! PRISTIN.” It is an upbeat song with refreshing drum beat and a groovy funk sound. It introduces fans to the beauty and energy of PRISTIN.

Debuting at No. 8 is WINNER’s “Really Really.” It is one of the double title songs from WINNER’s single album “Fate Number For.” WINNER, whose previous hit songs were mostly ballads, is releasing a refreshing house style upbeat song this time. The sweet lyrics describe the excitement of a budding romance. “Really Really” has a really good chance to challenge for the top spot next week!
