BLACKPINK Soars To New Heights As MV For "Whistle" Hits 100 Million Views
BLACKPINK is on a roll!
On April 15, BLACKPINK’s music video for “Whistle” reached 100 million views, currently sitting at around 100,070,671 views (and counting!) on their official YouTube channel.
“Whistle” was released in August 2016 as one of the group’s two debut songs alongside “Boombayah.” It previously achieved No. 1 on domestic charts as well as No. 2 on Billboard’s “World Digital Song Chart.”
Including “Whistle,” three out of four BLACKPINK music videos have now reached 100 million views in 2017. Only a few days prior, the girl group’s “Playing With Fire” music video also surpassed the 100 million mark and, earlier this year, “Boombayah” was BLACKPINK’s first music video to reach this milestone. With three music videos reaching over 100 million views in less than a year after their debut, BLACKPINK has reached new heights in K-pop history.
Yang Hyun Suk of YG Entertainment uploaded a congratulatory Instagram post celebrating the girls’ achievement.
