Exclusive: Cast Of 'Fight My Way' Is Refreshing And Sincere For Press Conference

On May 18, Soompi attended the press conference for KBS 2TV’s new Monday-Tuesday drama “Fight My Way,” starring actors Park Seo Joon, Kim Ji Won, Ahn Jae Hong, Song Ha Yoon, and Kim Sung Oh. All five actors were present at the press conference, along with the main director of “Fight My Way,” PD Lee Na Jung.

The press conference started out with a time for photos as KBS announcer Jo Choong Hyun, who was the MC for the event, introduced the cast members as they stepped on stage.

Park Seo Joon first took the stage as one of the main leads. The actor stars in the drama as Go Dong Man, a young man who used to do Taekwondo in high school, but ends up doing odd jobs.

During photos, Park Seo Joon shyly channeled his character, even showcasing a Taekwondo stance and a side kick.

Kim Ji Won then joined Park Seo Joon, and the two brightened up the mood by playfully pretending to fight. However, they later linked arms, even posing cutely with hearts.

Kim Ji Won then shined as the female lead as she stood by herself on stage. The actress stars in the drama as Choi Ae Ra, an old time friend of Go Dong Man and a front desk clerk who wants to become an anchorwoman.

Next up was Song Ha Yoon and Ahn Jae Hong, who star as Baek Seol Hee and Kim Joo Man, respectively. The two actors play a couple that has been dating for six years.

They cutely reflected their characters’ long relationship on stage by comfortably holding hands during photos.

Last but not least was actor Kim Sung Oh, who plays Go Dong Man’s teacher and mentor Hwang Jang Ho. Like Park Seo Joon, Kim Sung Oh brought energy to the stage by doing kicks and showcasing a boxing stance during photos.

He was then joined by Park Seo Joon, and the two actors further teased their upcoming bromance by adorably hugging.

After taking the group photos, the press conference transitioned into a time for an interview, which consisted of the main cast and the director.

PD Lee Na Jung explained her reasoning for doing the project, saying, “Because it’s the end of spring leading into the beginning of summer, I wanted to do a refreshing romantic comedy to reflect that feeling.”

She continued, saying, “I wanted to tell a story that was realistic and sincere, rather than a story about those who are at the top. I focused on trying to portray stories that are refreshing and actually reflect the lives of young people around us. ”

Park Seo Joon then talked about his character Go Dong Man, saying, “I had originally wanted to do a role where I could sit and talk more, since my previous projects contained more action scenes. But I changed my mind when I came across this character. Since my character is really bright and refreshing, I’ve been trying to channel an optimistic energy on set.”

Kim Ji Won commented similarly, saying, “Since my character is a very bright person who is studying to become an anchorwoman, I’ve been listening to a lot of cheerful music.”

Ahn Jae Hong and Song Ha Yoon also talked about trying to portray their characters, who have been dating for six years. “I’ve been trying to portray a feeling of comfortableness with [Song Ha Yoon],” explained Ahn Jae Hong.

During the press conference, the cast was sincere and bright as they answered questions about their upcoming roles, possible points of interest, and concerns they had while filming. MC Jo Choong Hyun wrapped things up in the end, saying, “I think you can sum up this drama in three words: enjoyable, refreshing, and gratifying.”
