BLACKPINK Becomes 1st Female Artist In Hanteo History To Surpass 1 Million 1st-Day Sales With "BORN PINK"
Just one day into its release, BLACKPINK’s new album “BORN PINK” has already made K-pop history!
On September 16 at 1 p.m. KST, BLACKPINK released their long-awaited second studio album “BORN PINK,” featuring the brand-new title track “Shut Down“—and both the album and its title track immediately shot to the top of music charts in countries all over the world.
According to Hanteo Chart, “BORN PINK” sold an impressive total of 1,011,266 copies on September 16 alone, making it the first album by any female artist in Hanteo history to sell over a million copies on the first day of its release.
BLACKPINK has also become the artist with the third-highest first-day sales overall, bested only by BTS and SEVENTEEN.
Additionally, “BORN PINK” managed to nearly double BLACKPINK’s personal first-day sales record of 589,310 (set by their previous full-length album “THE ALBUM” back in 2020).
Congratulations to BLACKPINK on their historic achievement!
