Stray Kids Becomes 2nd Korean Artist In History To Achieve Triple Million-Selling Album With 'MAXIDENT'

Stray Kids has become triple million-sellers!

On October 7, Stray Kids released their seventh mini album “MAXIDENT” and title track “CASE 143.”

On November 17, the group’s agency JYP Entertainment confirmed that on Circle (Gaon) chart as of November 7, exactly one month after Stray Kids dropped “MAXIDENT,” the release had surpassed 3 million cumulative album sales.

After BTS, this now makes Stray Kids only the second Korean artist in history to become triple million-sellers with one album.

Immediately after the release of “MAXIDENT” last month, the mini album soared past 1.3 million sales and became Stray Kids’ best-selling album in just one day. Later that week, Stray Kids became the second-fastest artist in Hanteo history to have an album reach the 2 million mark, achieving this feat in less than six days. With “MAXIDENT,” Stray Kids has become the artist with the second-highest first-week sales in Hanteo history.

This achievement also furthers Stray Kids’ record among JYP artists. Last August, Stray Kids became JYP’s very first million-seller with their second studio album “NOEASY.” Earlier this year in March, Stray Kids extended that record as the first JYP artist to become two-time million-sellers with the successful release of “ODDINARY.” Now being added to Stray Kids’ long list of accomplishments are their titles as JYP’s first double million-sellers and triple million-sellers.

As of October 2022, across 18 of their albums and only four years after debuting, Stray Kids has surpassed 10 million album shipments in Korea and Japan.

After wrapping up their concerts in Indonesia last week, Stray Kids’ “MANIAC” world tour will start back up this February in Bangkok. They will then visit different cities in Asia, Australia, and the United States before holding five additional encore concerts. These 2023 encore performances will make Stray Kids the second K-pop boy group after BTS to perform at a stadium in North America and will be the group’s first dome tour across Japan.

Congratulations to Stray Kids!
