12+ New K-Dramas Set To Premiere In September 2023

Fall is arriving along with several new K-dramas to get excited for!

Here are some new dramas to look out for in September:

“A Time Called You”

Cast: Ahn Hyo Seop, Jeon Yeo Been, Kang Hoon, Kim Yi Kyung, Seo Ye Hwa, etc.

Based on the Taiwanese drama “Some Day or One Day,” “A Time Called You” is a time-slip romance about Jun Hee (Jeon Yeo Been), who desperately misses her boyfriend after he passes away. In the midst of her grief, she winds up miraculously traveling back in time to 1998, where she wakes up as the high school student Min Ju and meets fellow student Si Heon (Ahn Hyo Seop), who looks exactly like her late boyfriend. “Arthdal Chronicles: The Sword of Aramun”

Cast: Jang Dong Gun, Lee Joon Gi, Shin Se Kyung, Kim Ok Bin, Lee Hae Woon, Joo Myung, Kim Do Hyun, Jung Hwan, Kim Min Song, Lee Joo Won, Lee Si Woo, etc.

“Arthdal Chronicles” is an epic fantasy drama about the mythical ancient land of Arth, and the second season “Arthdal Chronicles: The Sword of Aramun” is set approximately a decade after Season 1. Lee Joon Gi takes over the dual roles of twins Eun Seom and Sa Ya, while Shin Se Kyung takes on the role of Tan Ya. Jang Dong Gun reprises his role as Ta Gon, the first king of Arthdal, and Kim Ok Bin will play his queen Tae Al Ha. Watch a teaser here!

“Han River Police”

Cast: Kwon Sang Woo, Kim Hee Won, Lee Sang Yi, Bae Da Bin, Shin Hyun Seung, etc.

“Han River” is an action-comedy drama that follows the Han River Police Team as they become embroiled in crimes surrounding the river they guard day and night. Kwon Sang Woo transforms into Han Doo Jin, a hot-tempered police officer with a strong sense of justice, while Kim Hee Won will take on the role of Lee Chun Seok who has the exact opposite personality of Han Doo Jin.

“The Kidnapping Day”

Cast: Yoon Kye Sang, Park Sung Hoon, Yoo Na, Kim Shin Rok, Kim Sang Ho, Seo Jae Hee, Kim Young Suk, etc.

Based on a novel, “The Kidnapping Day” is a black comedy about the special collaboration between Kim Myung Joon (Yoon Kye Sang), a first-time kidnapper, and the 11-year-old genius Choi Ro Hee (Yoo Na), who is abducted by Kim Myung Joon to raise money for his daughter’s hospital fees. CEO-dol Mart

“CEO-dol Mart” tells the story of the idol group Thunder Boys consisting of Choi Ho Rang (Lee Shin Young), Shin Tae Ho (Xiumin), Jo Yi Joon (Hyungwon), Eun Young Min (Choi Won Myeong), and Yoon Sang Woo (Lee Sae On). On the day they reach the peak of their careers, they are made to disband due to an unexpected accident. While each living their own lives separate from one another for five years, they realize the shocking truth that they are owners of a supermarket on paper.

The Escape of the Seven

“Twinkling Watermelon” is a fantasy coming-of-age drama in which CODA (child of deaf adult) student Eun Gyeol (Ryeoun) time travels through a suspicious music shop and lands in 1995, where he meets his parents Lee Chan (Choi Hyun Wook) and Chung Ah (Shin Eun Soo) as high school students along with the school’s cello goddess Se Kyung (Seol In Ah).

“The Worst of Evil”

Set in the 1990s, “The Worst of Evil” is about an investigation launched to take down a major cartel based in Gangnam that is responsible for illegal drug trade between Korea, Japan, and China. Ji Chang Wook stars as Park Joon Mo, a detective who goes undercover to infiltrate the Gangnam Alliance, while Wi Ha Joon plays the Gangnam Alliance’s leader Jung Ki Chul.

“Bon Appetit”

“Bon Appetit” is a BL rom-com about Do Hoon (Yoo Jung Hoon), who does not put in much effort into eating proper meals, and his new next door neighbor Yoon Soo (Lee Ki Taek), who begins to cook meals for him. The drama follows the story of their relationship as they go from being neighbors to dinner mates and beyond.
