BTS's Jungkook Breaks PSY's Records On Billboard Hot 100 As "Standing Next To You" Debuts At No. 1 On Global 200

BTS’s Jungkook made history on more than one Billboard chart this week!

For the week ending on November 18, Jungkook’s new song “Standing Next to You”—the title track of his first-ever solo album “GOLDEN”—got off to a strong start on the Billboard charts.

“Standing Next to You” debuted at No. 1 on both Billboard’s Global 200 and Global Excl. U.S. chart, making Jungkook the first Korean soloist ever to top either chart with three different songs. (Jungkook previously hit No. 1 on both charts with “Seven” and “3D.”) As noted by Billboard, “Standing Next to You” is also Jungkook’s first No. 1 entry without an accompanying artist (“Seven” and “3D” featured Latto and Jack Harlow respectively).

Meanwhile, “Standing Next to You” debuted at No. 5 on Billboard’s Hot 100, which ranks the most popular songs in the United States—marking Jungkook’s sixth solo Hot 100 entry and his third solo song to enter the top 10.

With this new entry, Jungkook has broken two of PSY’s records on the chart: Jungkook has now overtaken PSY to become not only the Korean solo artist with the most Hot 100 entries, but also the Korean soloist with the most top 10 hits.

Jungkook previously entered the Hot 100 with his “7 Fates: CHAKHO” OST track “Stay Alive” (produced by Suga), his Charlie Puth collab “Left and Right,” “Seven,” “3D,” and his recent Kid LAROI and Central Cee collab “Too Much.” Of those, both “Seven” and “3D” entered the top five (at No. 1 and No. 5 respectively).

“Standing Next to You” also debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Digital Song Sales chart with 84,000 downloads sold in its first week, as well as No. 25 on the Streaming Songs chart.

Finally, Jungkook shot back up to No. 2 on Billboard’s Artist 100 this week, marking his 13th non-consecutive week on the chart.
