YG Entertainment has released a statement regarding BABYMONSTER’s debut lineup.
On November 15, News1 reported that BABYMONSTER will be debuting as a six-member group and that Ahyeon would be unable to join the lineup due to personal reasons. They further reported that although Ahyeon may join the group later on, she will be unable to make their debut with them.
In response to the report, a source from YG Entertainment briefly commented, “We will inform you afterwards.”
BABYMONSTER is the first girl group produced by YG Entertainment in about seven years since BLACKPINK. Back in May, it was announced that the debut lineup for the multinational group will consist of Ahyeon, Haram, and Rora from Korea, Pharita and Chiquita from Thailand, and Ruka and Asa from Japan. Initially scheduled to debut in September, YG Entertainment pushed back their debut by two months due to “careful attention in selecting the title track.”
