Kang Daniel Officially Sets New Record Of Highest 1st Week Sales For Solo Artist With "Color On Me"
Kang Daniel has set a new record with his first special album!
According to Hanteo Charts’ statistics, Kang Daniel’s solo debut album “Color On Me” sold 466,701 copies in its first week, setting a new record for most albums sold in the first week for a solo artist. Kang Daniel wowed when he recorded over 400,000 copies sold in the first three days, and he concluded his first week with an even higher statistic of over 466,000 copies.
Not only is this the highest number of albums sold in the first week by a solo artist, it is also the eighth best-selling K-pop idol album in the first week. The only idols to have sold more in their first week than Kang Daniel are BTS and EXO, with Kang Daniel even breaking the record he achieved as a member of Wanna One.
The achievement is meaningful as Kang Daniel had gone through a hiatus of six months due to his legal dispute with LM Entertainment, and shows just how much his fans have been waiting for him. He himself described the album as, “More than just a debut album, but a special album to repay my fans for their love.”
Congratulations to Kang Daniel on the amazing achievement and don’t forget to check out the music video of his title track “What Are You Up To“!
